School In 2020
I don't think any of us could have predicted how this school year would be and the hard choices we would have to make. Who would have thought we would be doing virtual learning, wearing masks, and social distancing? What in the world is going on? I feel like I just got sucked into a time machine and randomly spit out on a completely different planet, everything seemed to change over night.
No matter what option you choose to do for school this year things are not going to be "normal." I don't believe there is a bad option for school this year, as we are all learning just how to get through this time. Every kid learns differently and this is a great time to explore new options and see what works best for your kids. Don't feel pressured or overwhelmed by any of the options, do what you think is best for your child and your family.
I hope this is not our "new normal", I hope everything will eventually go back to the way things were. But while we are in these crazy times let us learn from them and cherish this extra time with our kids. Our kids need us more than ever right now, they can not comprehend what is going on in the world right now. And a part of me thinks they shouldn't have to understand, they should be allowed to be kids. I know we are told that the masks are for our safety but I can't help but think how fearful I would be as a child seeing everyone in masks. And how will children be able to play with their class mates if they have to social distance? I feel like some of these restrictions will have a much bigger impact on our kids and this generation then we realize.
